Looser curl patterns than 4A would struggle to keep this style looking sharp and would resist this style the most.

This Lizzi has a curl pattern (3c) with a lot of density and looks like she has warm brown tones in her gloss or wash at the mid-lengths. Even though she has color, this warmth is also present on the curls, and I think it’s because the curls are open, unlike the dark base at the roots. To get the desired shape with this style, it has to be cut dry. If not, a stylist who uses a dryer would leave you looking uneven. For those with looser curls, this bob cuts the fullness and starts hanging longer overall.

The sides come closer to your head, but the top has the highest volume. Shrinkage is not the only cause for this. This particular hairdresser actually embraces the natural texture of the coils instead of cutting straight across and causing the hair to fall flat. The neat thing about this cut is that it actually looks neat and held in place by itself and doesn’t fall. A lot of people think this only works with hair density, but it actually works much better with a simple cut. This actually looks like it edits hair and doesn’t make the style look bulky.

It looks best if you keep the shape with regular appointments every 3-4 weeks to maintain the shape. This style is best for loosely coiled curls.
